Mukhwas Gulkand Icecream Sandwich Bites

This is one of the most innovative dessert I have ever made. I am SOO excited to share this recipe! This was a trial recipe and it turned out to be a hit with our friends. This dessert recipe is a fusion of Paan and Icecream. Instead of paan enjoy these mukhwas icecream bites as mouth freshener. Mukhwas is a great after-meal snack after a heavy meal. It’s a good mouth freshener and it’s sweet taste is perfect way to round up a spicy tasty meal. Mukhwas Gulkand Icecream Sandwich Bites is a great twist to our traditional Indian mouth freshener (mukhwas). Icecream is flavored with paan (betel leaves) and Gulkand and then sandwiched in between chocolate pieces. It is a little time consuming recipe but so so so worth to make it. I bet you will never have tried anything like this before. Surprise your friends and family with this innovative fusion dessert!

Yields: 10-15 Servings

Ingredients

Method

Melting Candy Melts

1.

Place white candy melts in a microwave safe bowl.

2.

Melt candy melts for 30 seconds and stir.

3.

Repeat the process until chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

White Chocolate Pieces

1.

Line a pan with parchment paper.

2.

Spread melted chocolate on the pan. (See pictures for reference)

3.

Once chocolate is semi set, use a knife and cut in one inch pieces.

4.

Keep aside till set completely. Then break into pieces.

Mukhwas Gulkand Icecream

1.

Soften vanilla icecream.

2.

Add Gulkand and sliced pan in the icecream.

3.

Line a rectangle box with parchment paper. Transfer icecream in the box and set in the freezer.

4.

Once set, cut icecream into one inch pieces.

Sandwich Assembly

1.

Take one piece of chocolate, add icecream piece and top with another piece of chocolate.

2.

Set in the freezer for few hours. Enjoy these tiny icecream pieces as mukhwas!!
