It’s the weekend! Which means it’s time to indulge in some good homemade dessert. This homemade cake is amazingly delicious and has all the flavors you will love! Here is my super moist cake filled with chocolate chips and drizzled with chocolate custard.
Mix milk and vinegar. Keep aside for 10 minutes. Buttermilk is ready.
Combine all dry ingredients- sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt.
Combine all wet ingredients- buttermilk, oil, yogurt and sugar in a bowl.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and make a smooth lump free batter.
Lastly fold in chocolate chips in the cake batter.
Transfer the batter to a greased pan and bake in an oven at 350 F for 15-20 minutes or a tooth pick inserted in the cake comes out clean.
Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes.
Once cool, run a knife around and demould the cake.
Drizzle the freshly prepared chocolate custard over the cake and serve!
While the cake is cooling, make the custard.
Mix all the ingredients for custard in a saucepan making sure there are no lumps.
Cook the mixture on medium heat for 3-4 minutes till the custard is thick. Keep aside.
1. Custard will become thick as it comes to room temperature. Just before serving re-heat for few seconds so that the custard has a pouring consistency.
