Bread Mava Malai It’s the weekend!! Which means it calls for some dessert. This is an Indian sweet where bread slices are stuffed with sweetened mawa and then dunked in reduced flavorful sweetened milk. Once you make this your friends and family are going to ask for more!! Trust me. I have divided this recipe into 3 parts just to keep it easy to follow.
Bring 2.5 cups of milk to a boil.
Then add saffron, 1/2 cup sugar and cardamom powder. Keep boiling till milk thickens. This will take around 10-12 minutes. Keep stirring in between.
Once milk thickens keep aside. (Don’t make it too thick like rabdi)
In a pan heat ghee, add milk powder, 2 tbsp milk and 2 tbsp sugar. Mix everything and continuously stir and cook for 1-2 minutes. Keep aside.
Once cooled to room temperature, take 1 tbsp of the mixture and make cylinders.
Cut edges of the bread slices and roll it using a rolling pin.
Place the prepared Mava filling on the edge of the bread and roll the bread . Apply water on the edges and seal.
Rolls are ready.
Arrange the Mava rolls in a serving dish, pour some thickend milk over it, garnish with some chopped nuts refrigerated for 2-3 hours and enjoy!
