Deconstructed Falooda is basically an extension to the popular royal falooda served in a plate instead of a glass. Unlike the traditional falooda, deconstructed falooda is served with a piece of cake along with all the elements of falooda. Falooda is always made in all household so I thought of sharing this recipe with a twist. You can either bake your own rose flavored cake or get store bought vanilla cake and use for this recipe. I personally like the spongy texture of the cake and when mixed with rose milk the experience doubles. Lastly, the ingredients for this recipe can be prepared well ahead in advance, assemble the dessert when required as it tastes better when freshly stacked. Don’t forget to check the reel I posted on Instagram @foodstoriesbytwisha Please also check my other fusion dessert recipe on my page which are very unique and fun to make. The list includes Ras Malai Cake Cups, Thandai Rasgulla Mousse, Motichoor Rabdi Parfait, Bread Mava Malai, Parle G Chai Ice Cream Sandwich and many more.
Mix milk and rose syrup in a bowl and keep aside.
Carefully pour 1/2 cup of rose milk in a deep dish.
Next place the cake piece in the middle.
Add small pieces of strawberry jelly.
Top 1 tbsp of falooda sev and sabja seeds.
Lastly add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and serve!
1. Any store bought cake works great for this recipe.
2. I made my own cake, just added rose syrup to my vanilla cake batter.
