American Chop Suey is one of the most popular fusion Chinese recipe! This is made with crispy noodles served with a slightly sweet and spicy sauce and loaded with veggies! Not a sweet person? Just skip the tomato ketchup and it tastes delicious! Enjoy this comforting bowl of crispy noodles with a thick sauce which has a nice peppery kick!
Cook noodles according to package instructions.
Drain all water, add oil and toss noodles to prevent sticking.
In a small pan heat 2-3 tbsp of oil. Add some noodles and spread in the pan. Cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes.
Flip on other side and cook again for 4-5 minutes. It should be golden and crispy from both sides.
Heat oil in a wok. Sauté ginger garlic green chili paste.
Add chopped onions, bell pepper,carrots and cabbage. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
Add all sauces, black pepper and salt. Sauté for another minute.
Then add 2.5 cups of water. Let it come to a roaring boil.
Lastly add water cornstarch slurry and boil for 1-2 more minutes till sauce thickens.
In a bowl add the prepared noodle pancake, pour the prepared stir fry over it and enjoy hot!
