This recipe is very close to my heart as this is my very first recipe I ever made. My boyfriend then (husband now), absolutely loves it! This is basically a layered biryani, but is very different in taste than the regular biryani. The flavorful potato kofta with spicy yellow gravy is the highlight of this biryani. I have been making this recipe for years now now! You definitely need to try this recipe.
Mix all the ingredients for Kofta and make oblong kofta.
Deep fry Koftas in oil on medium flame.
Heat up oil, add onion paste and cook for 5-6 minutes, then add green chili ginger paste m and cook again.
Next add tomato paste, stir continuously and cook for 7-8 minutes.
Add all the dry spices, salt and cook.
Then add kaju paste and yogurt, mix and cook for few more minutes.
Add chopped mint leaves.
Gravy is now ready.
Layer plain rice, gravy and kofta alternately in a bowl and serve!
