Me and my husband were craving for some dosa since last few days. Usually I get the ready made batter from Indian grocery stores, but due to the lock down I did not want to step out. So thought of making my own dosa batter. My mother-in-law makes the most amazing dosa I have ever eaten. I followed her recipe step by step which made delicious crispy dosa!
Soak rice and urad dal in water for 8-10 hours or overnight.
Drain all the water and grind everything to a very fine paste. Only add water if required.
Transfer in a big mixing bowl and let the batter ferment in a warm place for around 8-12 hours.
Once the batter is fermented it will rise in the bowl and will be almost double in quantity. You will feel that the batter is very light when you stir with a spatula or a spoon. Add salt to taste.
Now your batter is ready to make dosa.
Heat a pan.Take a small cloth, dip it in water and wipe the pan.
Pour a ladle of batter and spread. Let it cook for 10-15 seconds.
Drizzle some oil, salt-red chili powder mixture. Cook until dosa is crispy.
