Dhaba style aloo matar is a beautiful blend of potatoes and peas in onion-tomato paste which is spiced up with garlic, ginger and dry red chilies. This spicy garlic, ginger and red chilies paste gives a nice rustic dhaba flavor to this Sabji. Dhaba style aloo matar gets done in 30 minutes and is made using basic kitchen ingredients.
Make a paste using tomatoes, dry red chilies, ginger, garlic, salt and water.
In a pan add oil, jeera and onions. Sauté until soft.
Then add the prepared tomato paste. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add all the masala, salt and cook for around 2 minutes.
Once masalas are cooked add potatoes and mix.
When potatoes are half cooked add peas cover and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Dhaba style aloo matar is ready. Serve with roti or paratha!
