Ras Malai Cake Cups

I am fond of milk based desserts and Ras Malai is in my favorite list without any doubt. I made a fusion recipe using vanilla cake and Ras Malai. The frosting is homemade! It is so light and fluffy and tastes like kesar ice cream. I made it for my Diwali party and home and my friends loved it! It will literally melt in your mouth and will definitely be a show stopper at your next party. An extraordinary fusion recipe where vanilla cake is flavored with cardamom and drenched with Ras Malai. Layered in between is some beautiful fluffy Ras Malai flavored whipped cream and topped with Ras Malai pieces and chopped pistachios. This dessert is absolutely divine and melts in your mouth! This is a new way to enjoy Ras Malai and Cake together!! It also makes a pretty festive treat. It is portable, giftable and cute!!

Prep: 30 mins

Ingredients

Method

1.

You will need 16 dessert glasses/cups for this recipe.

Ras Malai Whipped Cream

1.

Add whipping cream, 1/2 cup of Ras from Ras Malai and sugar.

2.

Whip for 4-5 minutes till soft peaks are formed.

3.

Fill the whipped cream in a piping bag or a ziplock bag. Snip of the tip and refrigerate.

Cake And Malai

1.

From the Ras Malai, take Malai pieces and cut into half.

2.

Cut vanilla cake into small pieces, according to the size of your dessert cup.

Assembly

1.

Take a dessert cup, on the bottom of the cup place one cake piece. Soak the cake piece with 1 tbsp Ras from Ras Malai.

2.

Next pipe the prepared whipped cream over it.

3.

Repeat the above step again till you fill the cup. I did two layers.

4.

Lastly top with half Malai piece.

5.

Garnish with chopped pistachio. (Optional)

6.

Refrigerate for 4-6 hours before serving.

Notes

1. I made my cake from scratch, and added cardamom powder to the cake to give an Indian touch to the dessert! But feel free to use store bought cake. The result is still going to be amazing.
