Mexican Open Bun

Mexican buns are open sandwiches made with burger buns. Burger buns are lightly toasted and topped with beans mixture and cheese. It is then baked till cheese melts and then topped with Pico de Gallo. Enjoy this delicious appetizer for the upcoming holiday season!

Yields: 12 Servings

Ingredients

Pico De Gallo

Method

Beans

1.

Heat oil in a pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds.

2.

Add chopped onions, bell pepper and cook until soft.

3.

Then add beans, all spices and salt cook for 1-2 minutes.

4.

Beans are ready. Keep aside.

Pico De Gallo

1.

Mix all ingredients and keep aside.

Mexican Bun Assembly

1.

Cut buns in half.

2.

Apply butter, beans mixture and spread cheese on top.

3.

Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes or until cheese melts.

4.

Top with Pico de Gallo.

5.

Serve hot!
